Gansett Companies LLC is a private investment firm led by Zayd Hammam.  Gansett invests in distressed and special situations, primarily acquiring private credit, real estate, and secondary fund interests.

Founder

Zayd Hammam founded Gansett Companies in 2015.  Prior to founding Gansett, Zayd was a Principal at Atalaya Capital Management, a leading credit opportunities fund.  He was also a Senior Analyst at a special situations hedge fund within Societe Generale and an Analyst at Mentor Partners, an event-driven hedge fund in New York.

Zayd graduated from the Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering and and a BS in Finance from the Wharton School.

Zayd is a dual US/UK citizen and lives with his wife and 4 daughters in New York City.

• US Distressed Corporate Debt:  Purchased <$15m of debt to an under performing industrial services company from a CLO.
• UK Real Estate NPLs: Purchased in a JV >£50.0m of UK real estate non-performing loans to a single borrower.
• Secondary Fund Purchase: Purchased LP interest of a private equity fund tail.
• US Distressed Corporate Debt: Purchased <$10m of debt to an under performing business services company from a bank.
• UK Real Estate Loan: Originated a >£9.0m high yield senior secured loan secured by a Class A office building.
• UK Care Homes: Targeting >£40m investment in UK care home platform, with initial investment coming from the purchase of an under performing care home.
